We can talk about the past, the pain, disparity, lack of humanity, equity.
We can talk about bias and the crazy inhumanity, the violence and lack.
We can talk about all those things cyclically, handing them down from generation to generation building resentment, fear, hatred, more bias, pain and violence.
Or we can break the pattern and say, "No more from me".
It doesn't mean we have to erase the past - just talk about it differently.
We don't have to remove accountability, just increase current responsibility.
We don't have to minimize pain, just maximize healing.
We can seek retribution continuously, pointing fingers at who has wronged us and become what broke us. How does that alone change anything?
Look at the world today - how much of that is there?
Or, we can step into today understanding what happened in the past and ensuring it doesn't happen again today.
There is a way.
